This is going to be a short post. All I'm going to say is, whenever people tell you something's a cliche, who cares?? Say it anyway! If that many people have said it in the past then it must hold some validity.
Starting now I'm going to give you all a weekly cliche that seems particularly applicable at the time. Sure they aren't too original, but sometimes it's nice to remember that you aren't the first person who has thought any particular thought. Sometimes it's nice to remember that you aren't alone.
This weeks cliche: Everything Happens for a reason

picture perfect

fashion is a lifestyle that is all in the eye of the beholder. from what is fashionable this season to what will never go out of style, but most importantly the concept of perfection. what does perfection mean in regards to fashion, and how does it affect your life? recently i have come to a realization, and it might not be profound or original, but still worth sharing. no one is ever going to reach perfection, except for those lucky few (Karl Lagerfeld, Audrey Hepburn, Hubert Givenchy)these individuals are the closest to perfection the fashion industry has reached, and in some cases they are very aware of it. however for us mere mortals this will never be attainable, so why pain yourself with thoughts of size 00 jeans and c cups on a 100 lb frame. this is not to say that you can not strive for personal perfection, because you always should be reaching for and growing to be the best that you can be, but keep in mind, what is perfect for you is not going to be the same as what is perfect for a Prada model. this morning when i was at the gym getting my morning boost of endorphins i saw a beautiful girl walk through the door. she had the shiny brown barrel curls that i would kill for, and perfectly sun-kissed skin. she got on the treadmill and started pushing herself, she kept glancing around at all of the sticks with legs running around her and i saw tears in her eyes. true this girl was a little heavier than the fashion world might deem "acceptable" but the fact of the matter is when i saw her, the first thing i noticed were things i coveted, not the things she wished to discard. this is the perfect example of what i am talking about, we as a culture tend to judge ourselves on a level far higher than we judge others. so next time you look in the mirror remember what you are seeing is not what others see, and perfection, just like fashion, is all in the eye of the beholder

a mission statement of sorts

as i sit at my computer reading fashion and lifestyle blogs i keep asking myself the same question. where does it all come from and how do i live a life that truly utilizes all of its aspects? fashion that is, and the ideas surrounding fashion. now when i say fashion i do not only refer to the everyday pieces of art we wear on our body, but also the world that surrounds it. how fashion is perceived is based on gender, age, race, location, confidence, happiness, and every other variable that factors into this thing called life. through this blog i hope to capture truly inspiring displays of self expression, and discover how they tie into living a truly fashionable life, not only through clothing, but through actions and emotions as well. let the games begin
